How do MiSight lenses work?
MiSight lenses use CooperVision’s ActivControl technology. They provide clear vision while creating a focus pattern designed to slow the worsening of myopia. A fresh pair is worn each day and discarded after use; there is no overnight wear or cleaning routine.
How much can they slow myopia?
Research on MiSight 1 day found that myopia progressed around half as quickly on average compared with conventional single-vision correction. That is a study average, not a prediction for an individual child. We review your child’s prescription and eye growth to see how they are responding.
What about MyDay MiSight 1 day?
CooperVision now also offers MyDay MiSight 1 day, which uses the same ActivControl approach in a different lens material. We can discuss which MiSight lens is suitable and available for your child at the fitting.
Can my child manage contact lenses?
Many children can learn to insert, remove and care for daily disposable lenses. We assess their suitability, teach them and you how to handle the lenses, and check that they can use them confidently before proceeding.
Are MiSight lenses the right choice?
That depends on your child’s prescription, eye health, lifestyle and how their myopia is changing. Other options include HOYA MiYOSMART glasses and Ortho-K. We can compare the options with you at an examination.
Can I buy MiSight online?
No. MiSight lenses are supplied after an optometrist’s assessment and fitting, with ongoing reviews. They are not available through our online shop.
