How to Use AOSEPT PLUS with HydraGlyde

AOSEPT PLUS with HydraGlyde is a preservative-free hydrogen peroxide system for cleaning and disinfecting reusable contact lenses. The peroxide must be neutralised in the special AOSEPT case before the lenses go back into your eyes.

The case contains the neutralising component. An ordinary flat contact lens case will not neutralise AOSEPT solution.

How to use AOSEPT

1. Wash and dry your hands before handling your lenses.
2. Place each lens in the correct side of the AOSEPT lens basket and close the baskets securely. Follow the directions supplied with your bottle for any lens-rinsing step.
3. Fill the supplied neutralising case with fresh AOSEPT solution to the marked line. Put the lens basket into the case and screw the lid closed.
4. Leave the case upright and undisturbed for at least 6 hours or overnight. The solution needs this time to clean the lenses and neutralise the peroxide.
5. After the full neutralisation time, remove the lenses and insert them as directed by your optometrist. An additional rinse is generally unnecessary; if you do rinse them before insertion, use sterile saline, never fresh AOSEPT.

Use fresh solution each time. Keep the case clean and replace it as directed on the product packaging. Always follow the instructions included with your particular bottle and the advice given for your lenses.

If unneutralised solution gets in your eye

Remove the contact lens immediately. Rinse your eye straight away with plenty of water or sterile saline for several minutes. Do not delay rinsing while looking for saline. If burning or irritation continues, contact your optometrist or seek urgent eye care. Do not put the lens back in until you have received advice.

Everyday lens care is different: keep tap water away from contact lenses. The water advice above is for promptly flushing an eye after accidental peroxide exposure.

Is AOSEPT suitable for my lenses?

AOSEPT is used with many reusable soft lenses and may also be recommended for some rigid gas permeable or ortho-k lenses. Check with us before changing the cleaning system prescribed for your lenses.
