Dr Rachel Barnes, an Ophthalmologist with a special interest in retinal disorders.
She is now offering her specialist care at Highbury Optometrists during Wednesday afternoon clinics.
Post completion of her medical and ophthalmological study at Auckland and Waikato, Dr Barnes undertook advanced training at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and St Paul's Eye Unit in Liverpool.
She is the founding member of the Retina Specialists group and is currently leading the Clinical Retinal team at Greenlane Hospital. Along with these, Dr Barnes is an honorary clinical lecturer at Auckland University's Department of Ophthalmology and is involved in various research projects.
In addition, as a reviewer and guest editor for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology journal, Dr Barnes continues to contribute to the advancement of retinal care.
