Dilated eye examinationPeriodically, we may recommend a dilated eye examination. This allows us to get a much better view of the inside of your eye so we can perform a much more thorough check for eye disease.
For the dilated eye examination we need instill eye drops which after about 10 minutes, will cause your pupils to dilate. The effects of this eye drop can take between 4 - 8 hours to wear off in most people, and your pupils will remain dilated until the effects wear off, even in bright sunshine. For this reason we would normal advise that you do not drive a car afterwards and you want to bring sunglasses to wear outside. |
