Macular Amsler Grid Test

How to take the Amsler Grid test:
- Do not remove glasses or contact lenses you normally use for reading
- Cover one eye with your hand
- Focus the other eye on the dot in the centre of the above grid
- Repeat with the other eye

Normal vision shows no distortion on the Grid. Please note that a normal grid does not rule out dry or early macular degeneration.	If you see wavy, broken, distorted or blurry lines or missing areas of vision, you may be displaying symptoms of Macular Degeneration. Consult your Optometrist immediately.

Do NOT depend on this test for any diagnosis. The Amsler Grid test may not pick up early signs of Macular Degeneration, nor dry forms of Macular Degeneration.
